  2. Change the brush options from the top bar accordingly.
  3. Paint by clicking and holding on the desired area.

Brush modes

The Brush tool may operate in three different modes:

  • Brush: The brush strokes are added to the selected structure.
  • Eraser: The brush strokes are subtracted from the selected structure.
  • Auto: The brush contextually adapts its mode (add/subtract), depending on how close the brush overlay is to the selected structure.

The current brush mode is reflected in the brush overlay. More specifically, the Brush mode is indicated by an overlay with the selected structure's color, while the Eraser mode is indicated by a white color.

tip

The brush mode may be switched from Brush to Eraser and vice-versa by holding the Shift key. You may also use the B and E keys to switch between the Brush and Eraser mode, respectively.

Adjusting the brush size

The brush size may be changed in two ways:

  • By sliding over the box next to Diameter on the top bar, or clicking to set a specific value.
  • By scrolling up/down while keeping the Shift key pressed.

Smart mode

When Smart brush button is activated it utilizes context-aware features to dynamically adjust the shape of the brush overlay.

The brush overlay will reflect the preview accordingly.

Avoiding other structures

You can enable the structure avoidance feature of the brush by clicking the Avoid structures button on the top bar.

De-selecting structures for avoidance

By default, the brush will avoid all visible structures inside the structure set. You may manually disable which structures to avoid by clicking the dropdown that appears next to the Avoid structures button and de-selecting them from the list.

note

The "Avoid structures" function will only take into account the structures that are currently visible in your structure set(s).

Auto-fill

If the auto-fill function is enabled (default), once a contour is enclosed, the inside space will be automatically filled. You can deactivate this auto-fill function in the editor tab by clicking the button in the top right corner, and then navigating to the Editor tab.
